Graphene Coatings · Zentek Ltd.

Your hardest materials problem. Our team.

Four active coating verticals - ZenGUARD™, ZenFire, ZenICE, ZenArmor™ - on a graphene contract-research model: the client funds the development, and Zentek retains the IP.

Your development partner

Best-in-class graphene contract research.

Zentek has a graphene contract research organisation. We do not compete with your manufacturing operation. We solve problems others cannot - fire protection, ice accumulation, corrosion failure, filtration performance - and deliver a validated formulation that becomes part of your product.

Our focus is giving you a commercially deployable solution - and Zentek retains the underlying IP. Our interests are aligned with yours: we only build value by solving problems that are genuinely hard, and solving them properly.

01 · You bring the problem

A real, costly problem.

A fire scenario your current intumescent chemistry cannot handle. An icing condition passive surface treatments have not solved. A corrosion failure mode costing millions per year. The problem is real, the cost is material, and the solution does not yet exist off the shelf.

02 · We build the solution

You fund it. We do the science.

Your team defines the performance targets. Our graphene chemistry team - backed by patent families and deep university research relationships - develops, tests, and validates candidate solutions against your specification.

03 · You deploy it

A validated formulation.

You receive a validated formulation, integration support, and a commercial arrangement built around your production scale. No manufacturing risk on our side means no complexity on yours - it slots into your existing process and it works.

The opportunity

A fast-growing market, addressed on a capital-light model.

Graphene is among the fastest-growing segments in advanced materials. The CRO model lets Zentek participate through client-funded development contracts that build a royalty-bearing IP portfolio - one that compounds regardless of which vertical generates it.

Four verticals

One platform. Four markets. Each structurally distinct.

Four independent categories where graphene chemistry offers a potential step-change in performance - each with its own market, regulatory context, and IP family.

Healthcare air-contact surfaces · HVAC filtration and PPE applications for ZenGUARD™

01 · Air filtration & PPE

ZenGUARD™

A patented graphene-based coating for HVAC air filters, surgical masks, and other air-contact surfaces. It alters the filter media's surface topography - increasing surface area and air disruption - without increasing pressure differential, so better performance does not come at the cost of higher energy consumption.

Quality Filters Inc. completed validation for Enhanced Air Filtration Media and placed its first commercial order. Addressable market: ~US$11.8B global specialty coatings by 2034.

02 · Fire protection

ZenFire

A graphene-enhanced intumescent gel. Conventional intumescent coatings expand under heat to form a protective char, but are thick, heavy, and inadequate at extreme temperatures. ZenFire has the potential to deliver superior fire protection at dramatically lower coating thickness - enabling retrofit applications conventional products cannot reach.

Regulatory tightening across the UK, EU, and North America is mandating third-party fire testing and recertification of building stock, driving demand for next-generation passive fire protection. Applications: structural steel, building materials, offshore platforms. Addressable market: ~US$7.1B global fire protection coatings by 2031.

03 · Passive ice prevention

ZenICE

A carbon-based copolymeric icephobic coating. Ice accretion on aircraft, wind turbines, and transmission infrastructure costs billions annually; active heating consumes energy and chemical treatments carry regulatory constraints. ZenICE reduces ice adhesion strength to the point where ice cannot accrete or sheds under its own weight - no energy input required.

Patent protection is filed via the PCT system, establishing international priority across key markets. No dominant incumbent exists in carbon-based passive icephobic coatings. Applications: aircraft, wind turbines, power lines, offshore structures. Addressable market: ~$2.8B global anti-icing coatings by 2030.

04 · Corrosion protection

ZenArmor™

A graphene-enhanced anti-corrosion coating. Corrosion costs the global economy an estimated $2.5 trillion annually, with marine and offshore environments the most aggressive. ZenArmor™ uses graphene's impermeability as a barrier enhancement, with the potential to extend coating life and reduce maintenance cycles significantly.

Graphene's two-dimensional structure creates a physical barrier against oxygen and moisture migration - the root cause of most corrosion failure modes. Applied as an additive to existing primer systems, ZenArmor™ is designed for retrofit compatibility. Applications: marine, offshore, industrial, infrastructure. Addressable market: ~US$54.4B global anti-corrosion coatings by 2033.

The moat

Every validated engagement builds a position that compounds.

When Zentek formulations are developed with industrial partners and incorporated into qualified products - particularly in regulated sectors - they often become part of long-term supply relationships. Qualification and certification processes favour continuity once performance requirements are met. Each programme builds on the last, a compounding relationship that gets more valuable on both sides over time.
